Yunnan 7 Sons Cake Mini Bingcha 8112
Raw Puer Early Spring 2003. Small leaf Similar to leaf used for
high grade Yunnan gold tips. Tippy, but less oxidized than the
Yunnan gold. Some post oxidation might have contributed to the
pungent black tea flavor. When J-TEA acquired this puer in 2003
it was very sweet with hints of smoke. At this time the leaves
have been left long enough that they are much more like that of the
black tea in a Yunnan gold. This tea is ready for drinking, or
could be aged longer. The cakes are tightly compressed, so aging
will be slower, but with the needle like nature of the leaf, I believe
that aging will occur at a faster rate. Aged from 2003 to 08/2005
in Taiwan with an average humidity of 60 to 81% and the from 08/2005 to
present in Eugene, Oregon that has an average annual humidity of 64.28%.
